The History of Mead Meadow, LLC
A Storied Property in Kittery, Maine
Mead Meadow is a historic property overlooking Spruce Creek in Kittery, Maine. Built in the mid-1800s and once known as The Briars, it was home to John Landon’s daughter, Ethel Langdon Mead, and has been cared for by only two families throughout its long history. Surrounded by woodlands, tidal marshes, and open meadow, it remains one of Kittery’s most storied and beautiful homes.
A Name With Meaning
In 2015, the estate was named Mead Meadow—a name chosen to honor both its lineage and the natural landscape that defines it.
Where the Brand Began
It was at this property that the idea for the Mead Meadow brand first took shape. Rooted in the philosophy of Thoughtful Living, the brand celebrates intention, beauty, and authenticity—values inspired by the history and spirit of this home.
